Application and Trade Proposal

Thank you for your interest in earning your seat at in-STUDIO.

in-TRADE is our path for people who belong in the room but cannot write the check this month. It is not a discount, and it is not charity. It is a trade between professionals: you contribute something the studio genuinely needs, and we credit the honest value of that work against your tuition. Talent for talent.

Please complete all sections. You may attach samples or additional pages if needed.

How in-TRADE Works

First, tell us what you would like to contribute using the menu below, and propose your hours and value. Second, we confirm it is something the studio currently needs. Third, we assess the fair value together using the rate guide. Fourth, if the value works, we sign a short agreement and you begin. Fifth, we verify the work as it is delivered, because the credit is earned by the work, not by the promise.

Two principles hold it together. The studio makes the final call on value: your number starts the conversation, it does not end it. And value is measured by the work, not by the tuition: if your contribution is worth less than the full class, you can combine contributions, extend the scope, or cover the difference in cash.

Check every category you can deliver at a professional standard, then describe each one in the Trade Proposal below.

How We Value a Trade

We value a contribution at its fair market value: what the studio would reasonably pay a competent person to do the same work, measured in real hours at a defensible rate. We do not value it at what it feels like it should be worth, and we do not value it at the price of the class you want.

An honest example, because it matters. Someone once offered to make one Instagram post in exchange for a waived $300 fee. We were grateful. The trouble is arithmetic: a single post built from a pre-made template is worth roughly $25 of real work, not $300. That offsets about one twelfth of the class, not the whole thing. It is not a judgment on the person. It is simply what the work is worth. That same person contributing an ongoing, original content role over several weeks could reach the full value. One template cannot. So propose the real work: the hours, the skill, and ideally proof you can do it well.

Fair Value Rate Guide

Working ranges, published so you can estimate fairly. The studio sets final rates based on skill, complexity, and finished standard. Per hour unless noted.

Illustration: 8 hours of skilled carpentry at $40 credits $320. Six original produced posts at $25 credit $150. One template post credits about $25. The math is the math, and it is the same for everyone.

I am proposing the contribution described above in exchange for tuition credit. The information is accurate, the work is mine to offer, and I understand the studio sets the final assessed value.
